Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park is situated in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam and was established on August 25, 1905. The national park is the home of many animals like Indian Rhinoceros, Bengal Tigers, Swamp Deer, Wild Water Buffalo, Elephants and many more. The major attraction of the park is the one-horned rhinos; they are nowhere else in the world except here.
Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
Pobitora wildlife sanctuary is in the Goalpara district of Assam. It was established in 1985 and covers an area of 213 km². The major attraction of this park is the great hornbill bird which can be saw here only. The number of hornbill birds has a estimate of around 500. It is also home to other species like the Golden langur, Indian Roller and the Great Indian hornbill.



Majuli Island
Majuli is situated in East Bengal and was established in 1983. It covers an area of 715km² and can be reach from Guwahati through a ferry service. Majuli has beaches, rivers, forests and is hence a perfect place for picnic trips. One of the most interesting attractions of this island is the great Indian bustard, a species that has become extinct on the mainland. It is among one of the best places to visit in Assam.



Kakochang Waterfalls
Kakochang is in the Kamrup district of Assam and is at a distance of 30 km from Guwahati city. Also, this Fall is at a distance of 8 km from Guwahati city. The name Kakochang means “waterfall” in the local language. It is a perfect picnic spot for families, with scenic views and fresh air to add to the fun. The falls are one of the popular tourist attractions in Assam. It is among one of the best places to visit in Assam.
Manas National Park
The park is situated in the Bishwanath Chariali subdivision of the Sonitpur district and was established on October 20th, 1992. In addition, Manas national park has an area of 932sq km. Firstly, the major attraction of the park is the one-horned rhinos which are found nowhere else in the world except this park. Also other animals that can be seen here are elephants, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, hog deer etc.
Nameri National Park
This is situated in the Dibrugarh district and was established in 1976. Moreover, it covers an area of 1172km² and is home to many Assam animals like wild tuskers, leopards, elephants etc. The best time to visit this place is during winters and summers as it receives thick fog during winters. The place also has a wide variety of birds.



Kamakhya Temple
Kamakhya is one of the most sacred pilgrimage places in India. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is situated at a distance of about 15 km from Guwahati. It is believed that this place was created by the divine power of Lord Shiva and hence holds special significance for the devout Hindus. It attracts people from all over India and also has witnessed many worshipers from foreign lands as well.



Haflong Lake
The lake is in Kamrup and also attracts many people from all over the country. The place though is not very well famous, it has a lot of boating facilities, boat rides, parks etc. It also hosts the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race which is an important sporting event in Assam. It is among one of the best places to visit in Assam.
Dhumeshwar Temple
The temple is at a distance of 8 km from Guwahati city and is dedicate to Lord Shiva. Also, this temple is one of the most visited temples in the world. Many devotees visit this place daily to offer their prayers and also to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Dibru-Saikhowa National Park
This national park is situated in Dibrugarh district, Assam and was established in 1976. It covers an area of 2065 km² and has many species that can only be saw here among these rhinos, elephants, leopards etc. are common animals present here also.



Haflong Hill
Haflong Hill is at a distance of 39 km from Haflong city. The hill is cover with mist during the monsoon, making it a perfect spot for trekking in the summers. This place was home to the “Sirius Kacharis” and also many historical research projects are done here for historical study. It is among one of the best places to visit in Assam.

Umananda Island
The island is in Guwahati, Assam and was established in 1992. The island covers an area of 1.5 km² and is also famous for its beautiful beaches and tropical rainforests. It also holds an annual cricket tournament and hence attracts tourists from far off places to see this prestigious event. It also has quite a few resorts which cover the needs of tourists from all over the country.

Dipor Bil
Dipor Bil Wildlife Sanctuary is in the Chirang district of Assam. In addition, it was establish in 1968 and covers an area of 204 km². Moreover, the major attraction of the park is the rare ferret badger and the Great Indian Hornbill which can only be saw here. The other animals that can be saw here are Elephants, Asian Golden cats and also wild pigs etc.
